The short version: if you give us your email, we use it to send you the show's emails and nothing else. We don't sell it, rent it or trade it. We don't run ads or ad trackers on this site. Unsubscribe from any email, any time.
What we collect
- Your email address, only if you type it into the sign-up form, along with the time you signed up.
- Email activity. Our email service records whether our emails are delivered, opened and clicked. We use that to send fewer emails to people who aren't reading them, and to send the right follow-up (for example, a note if you checked out the store).
- Basic server logs. Like every website, our host processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the page and block abuse.
- Ask Capone chat messages. If you use the chat, what you type is sent to Anthropic's Claude to write Capone's answer. We keep the questions and answers for 30 days, without your name or IP address, to fix answers Capone got wrong. Your IP address is used for about two hours only to stop people flooding the chat. Don't type personal or payment details into the chat.
- A sound setting in your browser. If you turn the site's sound on or off, your browser remembers that choice on your device. It never leaves your device.
We don't use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or third-party analytics on this site.
Who handles it
- Cloudflare hosts this website and keeps a backup copy of the email sign-up list.
- Brevo sends our emails and stores the email list (Brevo's privacy policy).
- Anthropic provides the AI that answers the Ask Capone chat (Anthropic's privacy policy).
- Fish Audio turns Capone's answers into his voice when you switch the chat's voice on. Only Capone's own reply is sent, never what you typed.
- Fourthwall runs our merch store at shop.diabolicalbastards.com. Anything you buy there, including your name, address and payment details, is handled by Fourthwall, not by us (Fourthwall's privacy policy). For orders, shipping, returns or billing, contact Fourthwall support from the store.
- YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X and Threads. When you follow a link to the show on one of these, that site's own privacy policy applies.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe with the link at the bottom of any email. It takes effect right away.
- Delete your data. Email [email protected] and ask us to delete your email address. We'll remove it from our list and our backup.
- Ask what we have. Same address. We'll tell you what we hold about you.
Kids
This show is for adults. The site isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their email addresses. If you think a child signed up, email us and we'll remove it.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
